Oldiron, I have a brass float from Fordson house, but was hesitant to solder it on. I have the float set to the proper 15/32", but she still drips gas with the new needle and seat. I am going to set the float back a bit so she pushes on the needle a little harder. Will see if that fixes the problem. If not, I'll solder the brass float in and try again. I will be interested to see what the new float looks like when I open her up.
I did get the potato muffler on today. She gets drug around tomorrow no matter what, to see if I can get her to do more than phart.
One thing for sure, I have never had so much carb trouble with a rebuild as this one. I have done the K5 and IH-10 carbs without issue, and got them right the first time. Letter series carbs I can almost do in my sleep. Not sure what I am doing wrong here, but I'll git 'er done!
