Hi Jim... Thanks,,,, Kind of got this from the first couple answers...I have the tractor at an IH repair shop..they haven't been able to fix it yet either...if they can't, as soon as I get it back I will take pics...figured that is what I should have done in the first place...This has the 8N type control lever..the rod goes under the seat and then towards the front, where it goes thru the sheet metal again and then hooks to the rod that comes from the valve..another split goes towards the rear as it comes thru the seat from the control lever...it is an eccentric gear that lets the cylinder stop at the right place...Where it hooks to the lever from the control valve there is a yoke that is threaded...and that is the only place you can adjust this..The problem is that without this linkage in the right place,, the cylinder either goes all the way up, or all the way down...and lifts the rear of the tractor off the ground!!!! ..At this time, I will probably wait until I get the tractor back and then take pics and repost this...Thanks again, Grant
