My farmall 340 was working fine one second, then the next the governor was hunting, and now it works when it wants. It will work for a second, then when under load it backs down to idle. If I give a pull on the carb linkage it will go back up to proper idle, then it will go back down. The spring is good as seen in oil fill hole and linkage outside the housing is all good and straight. Where to start now. How important is the adjustment of the bumper spring under the housing. All ideas are welcome so I don"t have to tear the old girl apart.
