1.Hand control at idle. 2. disconnect governor spring. 3. Adjust length of Governor spring rod, by loosening the lock nut and rotating the rod in the plunger until the bottom of the plunger just contacts the governor lever and holds it in the idle position. 4. Reconnect spring and tighten the lock nut.
This is from a MF 50, but I think the principle is the same. Do you have a manual for the tractor? Would be a great help. There are other preliminary adjustments and you should carry out minor governor adjustments after completing above
