Just thought I’d clear up some misinformation I found in the archives. I recently found a 240 utility front on ebay. I found several posts that said it would not fit a Super C, but after looking at the pictures of it I figured I could make it work. The price was too good to pass up, it went for only $66 complete with tires. It’s not an exact fit, the C uses 2 bolts per side to hold the bolster to the block, the 240 bolster is taller with 3 holes on a side causing it to interfere with the water pump. A few minutes with a sawzall cured the extra height of the 240 bolster, then it bolted up perfectly. The ball of the wishbone was just a hair too far forward so I put a couple spacer washers under it. Of course I had to drill and tap the clutch tube for the plate attaching to the wishbone ball. Took about 4 hours. I just thought I’d pass this on. The 240 utility fronts are not in high demand and can be picked up very reasonably if you come across one.
For those that that claim a wide front is no more stable - that may be true on a smooth field, but I often use my tractor in the woods. Drop your one downhill tire in a hole when you’re on a sidehill. You’ll quickly find yourself in violation of the seat side up rule.
