Hi, you must use the glow plugs to start the BD- 154 British Diesel for the first start of the day.For the first start of the day, in warmer climates it will start by just cranking the engine for a a period of time but not good for the starter. If engine and injection pump are working properly, for the fist start of the day the glow plugs must be used but after engine has warmed up it should start without glow plugs. Note: The glow plugs are wired in series and if one burns out they all stop working. There should be a glow plug push button and glow plug meter on the dash.
