My "new" Super A seems (to me) to have a lot of slop in the speed change lever--the lever on the governor housing that is attached to the throttle rod that goes to the throttle lever. You have to move the throttle lever halfway up the quadrant from idle to get any speed change. I looked at the parts breakdown and I don"t see a bushing or anything, looks like the lever just goes straight into the housing. I have an extra from an A and it has right much slop as well. I would assume that the lever shouldn"t wobble in the housing at all. Has anyone ever run into this? Only thing I can figure is to see if a machine shop could bore the housing and press in a bushing, or am I over-thinking this??
