I've been lucky, all the years I've run M's I've never had a water pump leak, just impellers wear out. I'm always scared of greasing them too much but I can't resist the temptation to give it a shot.

I'd take the seals in to the dealer and have them show you why they sold you the right part (or get the right one for you).
