Dave, If you have 3/16 inch movement, you have more than the bearing worn out. The top bearing is a sleeve bearing and is not much more than 3/32 inch thick. You may have to do something about the shaft wear such as get a different shaft from a salvage yard. Pulling out the sleeve bearing is a real joy. I made a puller with a peice of threaded rod and a round plug that would fit through the casting, but bigger than the bearing diameter. Then I used a piece of angle iron with a hole drilled in it across the top of the bolster casting to pull against. I then used a similar approach to putting in the new bearing and putting in the seal. The seal, to me, is the hardest to get in right. Good luck, Roger
