You don't note if you are wiring for 6 or 12 volt. In both cases (especially so with 6 volt) those cables should be as short as possible. I also suggest you ground the battery to the closest starter mounting to frame bolt. The cable coming off the battery goes to the steering post mounted starting switch with another cable going to the starter post. It is very simple to wire but keeping those cables short as you can will be your best goal. On my 6 volt system on my 1952 H I used 00 size cable with soldered terminals. I also like those star external tooth washers at all connections to give it a good bite and all connections need to be shinney clean. Hope this helps, Hal.
