The dipstick that is picture is for the engine. The transmission dipstick just seals with a pair of o-rings at the top. I have one laying at my shop I'll measure it this morning. Most all dipsticks appear like they have been cut and brazed back together but that was the way they were made. There were two different lengths according to serial number. The early one was shorter by maybe one inch. charlie
