I have worked on them for decades and yep had a few fly off in a cage but that was years ago. I do not have a cage but do them still. One of the best ways is to lay the ring down and rim up since the rim will not go far. Use a clip on air chuck and a way to walk back from it when airing it up. Never yet been hurt by one but I can also tell you a regular rim can let a tire blow off and take a guys head off. I know a guy who broke his jaw and messed him self up good when a car tire let loose and got him and left a big ring on the ceiling of the shop
