To all that were interested in the post I made farther down about buying a new IH coil.
I just got off the phone with the nice gentleman at O.E.M. tractor parts.He is telling me that THIER 12 volt coils DO NOT need a ballast when used on a 12 volt system.He is ALSO telling me I CAN use their 6 volt coil on my 12 volt system,IF properly ballasted.he is also telling me they assemble their coils here in the U.S.,but parts are foreign(As we know.)
He said he would also call me back with ACTUALL Ohm readings off of BOTH of these coils,(probably monday) That way we will know for certain what these coils really are and how to ballast accordingly. I dont wanna "fry" any points.
