Thanks Pete and Owen for your responses. Brought the head along to the diesel program at our local vocational school today along with a valve overhaul kit. The IT manual indicates that valve stem seals were used on all valves but there weren"t any on the engine when I removed head and the kit I bought off of this website didn"t include any. How critical are they and should I visit my local NAPA store to purchase them?
