Yes Mike, it works just fine. The book "150 Years of International Harvester" has at least one photo of an M set up this way. That photo has made it into a few other IH books as well.
My problem is, nobody pays attention to the front end. 40% of the tractor's weight is on those skinny little tires, yet nobody duals them up.
