560 farmall overheating

i bought a 1959 560 farmall this spring and used it to disk corn stubble. i pulled a 10 ft. wheel disk in 3rd gear at full throttle with no power problems but after 30 minutes or so, temp. gauge went to 230 deg. and higher. it was only in the low 80's that day. i cut back on throttle but no decrease in temp. i then went to 2nd gear at 3\4 throttle and temp. went down to 200-210 and stayed there. anti-freeze is good. radiator is clean. gas engine is out of combine but runs well. when i stop 560 and let it idle temp. comes down to 190-195 and stays there. any thoughts appreciated !!!
