The choke rod on my '40 H comes through one of the holes in the arm that holds the hydraulic control rod. It is bent in all kinds of directions to go under the fuel tank, along side the sediment bowl, behind the air cleaner, and outside the carb. The little bracket under the arm for the hydraulic rod doesn't appear until SN 70410.
