Since your tractor has a fuel pump there is something else that I want you to check. The bowl on the carb should have a vent. I do not know where this vent is located on your carb. This vent must be verified to be not clogged. Now with the vent verified open you need to verify that the float is controlling the fuel at the correct level while the engine is stopped and while it is running. This can best be determined by removing the plug in the bottom of carb float bowl (assuming that your model has one, most do). Next get a barbed fitting that has the same threads as the removed plug and a 1 1/2 ft length of clear tubing to fit the barb. Screw the barbed fitting in to the plug hole and install the tubing with the open end turned up and tie the tubing in place. When you turn the gas on, the level inside the bowl will be represented in the tube. Now crank the tractor, if the needle seat valve is leaking gas in under pressure of the fuel pump the level in the clear tubing will rise. If this occurs the needle seat valve is malfunctioning and force feeding the carb and IMO could flood the engine thus creating your problem. Stranger things have occurred! If I need to clarify any of this repost.
