Lots of confusion about 444 tractors. If the unit is in Canada ,it is probably a British built tractor with a BC144 gas engine. If it is in the U.S. then it probably the version assembled in Louisville that used a C153 gas engine. There are several easy ways to tell the difference in the 2 tractors. The BC144 uses a downdraft carb and the C153 uses an updraft carb. The Louisville 444 uses a round tube front axle and Delco electrical but the British version uses a square tube front axle and Lucas or Bosch electrical. I think from the serial # you provided that your tractor is the British built version that was sold in Canada.
