I have a "hand me down tractor", and would like to get more info to do a service on it. The model is IH 444 and where it has a tag for the serial # it is blank and under model on the same tag it reads A490001B000834. I know it is British made but is this really the serial number and can you tell me some basic facts about the machine, ie year built, what 444 stands for ?, oh yeh it is a gas engine and equipped with a bucket attachment.
