My son just finished sandblasting and painting the body of the Super A - final drives/trans/etc.
Would post pictures but camera batteries are dead (always at the wrong time!!)
We've officially passed the point of disassembling / reparing/ cleaning. Now it's pretty much all paint and assembly.
Has to be done for the 28th (Memorial day parade). The kids will be very proud if they make it.
But what makes ME proud is that my son did this latest work on his own - after having been released from the pediatric intensive care unit the night before where he was laid up for an entire week with a collapsed lung.
He was very, very sick from the heavy drugs, and in a LOT of pain. Had a big tube coming out of his chest, and lots of machines beeping constantly to keep us awake all night, every night. A miserable experience. But he kept his sense of humor through it all and never complained.
(And yes, I did discuss the issue of paint fumes and sand with the doctor who assured me if he's wearing a respirator he's fine)
