Were pump timing marks ligned up before it was removed and replaced. Another problem weight retainer may be 1/2 turn off inside pump, will really be a challenge. Mark can be checked by realigning, trace cyl#1 fuel line to hydraulic head, remove line bolt, use airhose to blow fuel out of port. See if rotor shaft port is in view. If not retainer is on 1/2 turn off. Can still time on cyl # 6 if it is, I remove glow plugs and feel air escape as coming up on either cyl 1 or 6. Pump and engine camshaft must be together. Pistons 1 and 6 are at TDC together but Cam determines which one is ready to fire, and pump must be with cam. Let us know what you find.
