Hello, Finally got the steering wheel off the 574. Removed the snap ring holding the seal and put the wheel back on and turned it hoping to force out the seal. Nothing happened so when I removed the steering wheel the shaft it was attached to comes out with it. Looks like water had been getting down in there and ate up the little ball bearings on that shaft. The bearing came apart allowing the shaft to come up with the wheel and all the ball bearings went down in the box. Now what? Looks like the shaft and bearing and top end of the box are avialable from IH, called a pedastal on their parts list. Has anyone ever messed with these before? Thanks, YC
