Paul, Speeking from first hand experience on the upping of HP on a M Farmall, may I tell you of my past project when I was in Tractor Shop Class when I was a senior in college at Tarleton State University @ Stephenville,TX . My tractor one 1950 , M . All info at that time said HP on a M was 35 HP. , A Super M was 45 HP. I put a Super Kit in this tractor, kit roughly consist of oversize sleeves, pistons, new valves and rotators, springs, bearings, ect. When finished she had 42 HP ,dyno tested, 50 rpm shy of highidle. for a kitted M she is salty, this project happened my Spring semester, 1980!!!She still runs strong. On your project GO FOR IT , Good Luck !!! PS. When you paint, You will still use M decals NOT .....Super M decals ,for your M will have band brakes ,not disc brakes that true supers have...... Good Luck!
