The timing mark is on the flywheel and can be seen through the hold in the bottom of the clutch housing. It is a line with "DC 1-4" on either side and is very faint and hard to see if you flywheel is diry. The timing alignment mark is cast at the very bottom of the front clutch cover. I found it easy to turn the engine by removing all 4 spark plugs and turn the flywheel by hand.
