Hi fellow tractor emthusiasts: I normally don't get over to this board very often but today I need some info. My good friend and neighbor has a 574 tractor that has had T/A issues for some time. The tractor is on secondary duty but with the backhoe and loader on it secondary duty is a bit of a misnomer. The T/A has not shifted (Direct drive only?) for some time but now will coast to a stop requring you to move the tractor a bit with the loader to get the powertrain to hook up again.I understand there to be a sprag clutch in the T/A which is likely failing now. Owner has located a kit to do away with the T/A My question is how much of a job is this to install? BTW I have made a living repairing farm equipment for 25 yrs just not this colour. Any tips or info would be appreciated, Thanks, Bob.
