Sam - There's a 1/2"(?) square head pipe plug on the left side of the transmission housing in front and slightly below the left brake. Transmission oil should show at that opening with the tractor parked level. If you suspect the oil's never been changed, now's a good time to do it. The old stuff is likely contaminated with lots of water, etc. The main drain is the large (1"?) pipe plug at the bottom of the rear end beneath the PTO shaft. There's a 2nd smaller drain plug in the center of the transmission to the rear of the clutch housing. If the tranny's full you'll get 12+ gallons out of the large drain, and a few quarts more from the smaller one. Beware - that's a LOT of nasty old lubricant - make sure you have at least three 5-gallon pails ready before you pull the big plug!! The fill opening is the large pipe plug with a 3/4" recessed drive in the transmission cover next to the shift lever. It will require 13 gallons of #90 gear oil to completely refill. Other fluids to check: Obviously the radiator and the crankcase. Also the live hydraulic reservoir, if your Super M has one - otherwise the belly pump reservior. Good luck!

We arrived hoping to meet up with a man we knew had over one
