The hydraulic reservoir for the 240 is not located in the rear end. I am not sure but I believe it was mounted under the gas tank much like the SC. Trace out the oil tubes from the hydraulic pump located in front of the distributor. They should lead you to the reservoir. Otherwise, check your operator's manual. Do not overfill the transmission/rear end. If you have done so you need to remove the oil down to the check point. It should be a threaded plug on the rear right side below the belt pulley or belt pulley delete plate. These units were not designed to use hi-tran fluid but they will work with it, just slower. They were designed for an oil very similar to 30 weight.
