Missing, if random, and less than 3 a minute is probably OK. If seeming to come from a single cylinder, and often, find the cylinder by removing and grounding one plug wire at a time till the missing (not the dead cylinder) stops. checking the distributor cam for sloppy bushing issues, No more than .001" play side to side, up and down.
check plug wire conductivity.
Check for vacuum leaks.
Check the valve adjustment
