You could be right. It will be a while before I get the SM back together, just trying to get the pump etc ready to go before I need to put it on. The "gasket" is the "rectangular" rubber seal between the cover and the body. The parts book does not show any breakdown at all, so if it is mashed down too much I don't know where to get one. In another recent thread you mentioned a 450 pump (they probably are the same or close), no diagram there either. I did try pouring some hytran in the in and out holes in the bottom of the pump. It didn't seem to help.
