I was actually posting this for a friend. I did talk to him about bearing clearance. He did not mic anything and did not crush any plastigage. He is suppose to do that soon while he has the pan off. He told me his crank was stamped 20/20 and asked if he made sure he used .020 over bearings. I was going to have also check the oil pump relief valve but he already has. Is there no seal that goes on the oil pump where the oil discharges (personally not familiar with the C146) He said it did not have any 0-rings or gaskets and appears to be a metal to metal contact surface. I'm betting he has the wrong brgs in the engine. I wouldn't say the shaft is worn that bad as he stated it did not have this problem before he overhauled it, so it should have at least the same oil pressure as before if it were cam bearings or a worn crank. He prob. has std or 010 brgs in the thing. Not familiar with the 146, is there anything on the head gasket or rockers that he may have screwed up?
