I recently picked up an IH B275 with a non functional two stage clutch.
Two owners ago replaced the clutches/pressure plate then passed away. The tractor sat outside for 4 years before the owner previous to me picked it up. He used the tractor for a year before the clutch gave up on him - it simply wouldn't disengage.
When I got the tractor home I separated the engine from the transmission and found the release bearing had seized. This seized bearing then chewed the clutch fingers off until they no longer worked properly.
The clutch discs are pressure plates are still in excellent condition so I ordered replacement fingers and release bearing.
I've installed the new pp fingers however I need to know what the procedure is for setting up the pressure plate before it is installed back in the tractor.
Anyone have any insight?
