Bad noise in 5th gear on M

Just wanted some input. Maybe some have experience with the same situation. My '50 M makes a high pitched 'woo-woo' noise in 5th gear only. The pitch changes with speed, and quits if you hit the clutch and coast, or idle it down from high speed and clutch engaged. We went through the rear end and trans a few years back when the pilot shaft broke at the front near the notorious weak bearing area. Does any of this reing a bell? We replaced several bearings, have a hard time believing it's another, but not impossible. Starting to wonder what a broken tooth on 5th might do or sound like. Thanks in advance.. Just trying to condition myself before I jump in head first.. haha
