I just converted my m to 12v neg ground, added an alternator (3 wire delco), Pertronix electronic ignition with a flame thrower coil, and completely re-wired it. I did so using the schematic on this site, with the exception of no warning light, and no resistor to the coil (was told none was needed with a 3 ohm coil).

When I first started the engine, the tractor ran great, but would not shut off. it will not start with the Ignition switch off, but stays running with the switch in either position, and I have been choking it to kill it.
Any ideas? I"m not an electrical guru by any means.
