Mr. Owen Aaland has been very helpful to me in this forum, explaining how to swap the pto from a 1086 to my 1586. Problem is, the guy that was parting out his 1086 made me an offer I could not refuse on the whole 1086, and I bought it outright for parts. What's the problem? I put a battery in it for kicks, and it started! I then tried to drive it, only problem, apparently the pilot bearing is seized up. I can drive it if I get it on an incline and slip it into gear, otherwise, the gears grind when I push in the clutch with the engine running. Would it hurt to drive it in my pasture in a high gear with the clutch depressed in order to make the bearing release? The clutch cylinder seems to be doing its job. Suggestions, anyone? Thanks.
