Most gear pumps should be good for 1500 psi, so I doubt you'll hurt the pump by turning up the pressure (not sure where you could do that in the 450), but it may be hard on the cam drive mechanism. Another thing to consider is "back in the day" they way underrated pumps, at least we did. If a pump was designed or rated for 2500 psi, we tested it much higher than that, maybe 3500 or 3750. If it has a Cessna pump, you ain't gonna' hurt it at 1500 psi, but as I said, it may not be good for the cam gear.
