Well the exhaust is clear, even when going from idle to a higher speed fairly quickly, it stays clear. I took the thermostate out and compared it to another new one i bought the other day, it allows the same amout of water through when cold as the new one. They are both opening up at the correct temperature too. Today I did go ahead and recheck the timing. I set it per the book and is firing #1 at the 25 degree advance mark on the pulley. I did notice now when I start it, that it comes to life rite off the bat with very little cranking. Also, the dieseling isn't quite as severe, but it is still doing it and getttin a loud backfire when the engine does come to a stop. I am not for sure on the carb passages, they were clean when I rebuilt it, but could possibly be clogged now. One other thing, when I pulled the plugs out to check them, them was just a very light amount of soot on them compared to before. I really don't have any other carbs I could put on it to try. Thanks again!
