i'll give you my guess on the second question first. it sounds like you are sucking air. have you tried re torquing to spec after it has run a while and then cooled down completly. alot of times everything will expand when it gets hot causing the gasket to get crushed then when things cool down your left with a gap where the gasket was not making good solid contact before. i don't have the torque spec or tighting order maybe someone else does. as for the first question it sounds like you have an excessive amount of backlash in the gears involved in second gear. do you get this noise when going down hill and the transmission is holding the tractor back? anyway just a guess and maybe a couple of things to check out.
