If it has been stored outside in the rain you can get water into the transmission that will build up the level of the oil. First remove the bottom drain plug and see if you get any water. If yes then do the diesel flush already mentioned. The peddle shaft is always below the level of the oil so good seals are absolutely necessary there. Other seals are above the oil level and do not have to be as good. They tend to always leak if the oil level gets too high.
