I"m in the process of finishing (only been about a year "finishing") the Fast Hitch conversion on my Super A. All that is left is to hook up the helper spring. The problem is I can"t get the holes to line up where the helper spring bracket bolts onto the side of the torque tube. Now, I assume I am doing it right--I am inserting the "tab" on the back of the helper spring bracket into the little hole on the side of the torque tube, where the transmission connects to the torque tube. I tried tightening the helper spring as tight as it would go to shorten it so it would miss the touch control rockshaft and allow me to try to line the holes up but I couldn"t get it short enough--and once I did I am not 100% sure the spring would work like it should without bending.
The only thing I can think of that might be the problem--assuming I am trying to attach it correctly-- is the tab on the helper spring bracket. The original had been broken and a new one welded in place. It looks just like the original, but I am beginning to wonder if maybe it"s too long.
