they used the colors to identify their engines. for example the flathead six cyl.from the 40's was called the green diamond. i believe the pickups in the 50's had the black diamond. the big trucks had the red diamond. not sure which engine would have the same head as the 263 engine in the 560. guessing maybe the black diamond but its an older model.
