Dick, in all of my manuels it shows a number of different rims and cast wheels both front and back, I would guess it was up to the person ording the tractor what they wanted as far as rims with loops in them or without as far as the M's, H's, C's or A's, I believe though that the loop type rims tend to be stonger. The five bolt front wheel pattern came out on the larger W series tractors such as the WR-9 W-6 WD-6 etc. But as early as 1938 the W-40 had five spoked cast front wheels, then later on the Farmall 240, 340, 460 etc can out with the solid five bolt metal rims
