If it's leaking that much, the source of the leak should be obvious. Go over the tractor with a fine-toothed comb in the area directly above the puddle, looking for fresh fluid.
How much you should be concerned depends on how much fluid is leaking, what kind of fluid it is, and where it's coming from. Regardless, it should be fixed sooner or later, preferably sooner.
Hydraulic fluid doesn't smell like WD-40 as far as I know. Maybe it's hydraulic fluid but I can't say just from your description of the smell.
There is a fill and level check plug for the hydraulics on the hydraulic block under the gas tank.
