I'm going to be working on a 544 gas and the tractor is only hitting on cylinders 3 and 4 most of the time. If I pull the choke some the rpm will pick up a little. If I pull the choke out almost all the way the first two cylinders will start to pick up and it begins to sound good. Then it will start to smoke like its rich. It will smoke worse and the rpm will start to drop. Cylinders 1 and 2 spark plugs are blackened, while 3 and 4 are white looking.
Any thoughts on where to start? This seems strange that I need to choke it to get all the cylinders to fire.
