Thanks for all the advise.I will check the rim width as you suggest. We would want the increased traction with the 13.6-38's because we are planning on plowing/discing, etc and will also be trying to pull out some scrub trees in the field. We don't care so much about speed. I was also concerned that the 13.6's are so much shorter than the current 14.9's. Won't that result in lowering the back end of the tractor--the tractor body is now level with the ground but it seems like the shorter tires will have me at quite an angle. Am I missing something? The 13.6-38's appear essentially brand new and the guy wants $600 for the pair including tubes. Does that sound like a reasonable deal? Thanks for your advise!
