Take the shifter out of the tower on top of the trans cover. There are two plugs that must be removed to allow a pivot pin to be pushed out (might take some wiggling an movement of the lever as the pin wear can allow steps to be generated on the sides of the pin). Once out, the shift rails are visible in the hole (use a good small light (LED lights are great) Use a long screw driver to realign the shift rails to the middle (neutral position). The tip of the shifter wear, and the pivot pin wear combine to allow it to travel where it should not go. The tip is .3 inches wide and close to 3/4" front to back with slightly rounded lower corners. (pictures are in the archives) Welding it up and grinding to size works wonders. Jim
