BOB M got a question

Bob used your diagram for the electrical on my 1953 Cub,[schematic for the M] and still beating my head why the ammeter shows a slight charge when it is running with the lights off, but when I turn on the lights it shows a 4-6 amp discharge. Did all the checks on the generator mentioned before and it seems to be charging, got me buffaloed, any suggestions? Thinking its the voltage reg., but do not care to buy one if its something else. Also re-wired all the lights so I know there is no shorts in the wiring.
