I have converted my Cub to 12v with a alternator. It fits just fine. All you need is to switch the pulley of the generator to the alternator. Open the bracket up a little, get some washers, nuts, and a piece of all-thread. I used a older Delco 10SI alternator from my local junkyard. I get them for $10 for about every tractor I buy. If done correctly and you are not worried about originality you can not tell and will always be able to switch back later. If you are worried about originality take your generator to a auto-electric shop and have them fix it up for 12v. And I don't care what people say, take it to the shop to start with, because yes you can add a 12v regulator and it might charge for a while but it will not last. Do it right the first time. Also I have heard that the Cub Cadets strater/generator's will not hold up under use on a bigger tractor. Bill {Antique Acres}
