With it running, and the gen Arm wire connected to the VR arm terminal, ground the field terminal on the gen with a jumper(connected to the regulator or not, it does not matter) if it now charges some you know the issue is in the Voltage regulator. *.5 volts or so may be all it will deliver, but it should charge with a Voltage regulator that is good. Adjusting the relay with the smaller terminals a little tighter, and making sure the contacts are clean, might work. (I won,t make noise about it being 8 volt) Jim
