I've posted a couple of times about how to tell what voltage on a Cub that I am going to get running. Found out it was 12 volts so today I took a battery out of one of my tractors and tried starting the Cub. It cranks like crazy but wouldn't start. Found out the tractor hadn't been run for a couple of years and was running poorly when it got parked. A little investigation and it turns out the carb is full of junk and not much gas coming even through the sediment bowl. Also took out a cup of water.It has good compression and spark so at least now I know what has to be done. My question is this tractor doesn't have a screen just before the carb like an H and M does. Is it supposed to have one? Also it has live hydraulics and a one point hitch. Its a 1947 which looks like its first year production. Was live hydraulics available at that time or could this be an add on.I'm going to order a carb kit and a couple of other things and should have it running and mowing grass by next weekend.That little Cub makes my A look like a large tractor.
